Correct. It will be a standalone race - open for ALMS and LMS teams. This race will be used as a warm-up to the Asian Le Mans Series in 2009 - exactly the same way the ACO did it with the Le Mans 1000 km in 2003, followed by the LMES in 2004. Auto entries to Le Mans for each class winner too..
