Default The Future

The ACO's press conference from Silverstone has shown that there are fairly large changes on the way for the future of ALL classes in ACO series.

Will they ever make up their minds? lol. It seems like things change now every 6 months. At least this looks like a more solid plan than what was announced in June at Le Mans.

As far as I can tell, there will now be no "Evos" ? I have to get confirmation on that.

It sounds to me like the ACO got a lot of resistance to the "Evo" concepts. They now say that open or closed cockpit is OK. I guess that doesn't stop somebody from making a car that is of the Evo type though. (I am assuming the Evo stuff refers to closed cockpit cars that look more like their road going counterparts than they currently do? Company branding and look type of stuff like kidney grills for BMW's.)

I understand slowing the cars down. They are faster than most open wheel cars other than F1 as they are now. I also like moving to less downforce capability. There should be enough downforce to keep the cars stable at high speeds, but not so much that it gives you huge cornering advantages.

I have heard talk of using a current P2 engine for P1 next year like in the Acura. Wouldn't that still leave you at a bit of a disadvantage?
