Default One Giant Step for Mankind

As I sit here reviewing the STS-127 launch you could see another launch pad clearly from the shuttle camera and they mentioned that the new Ares program's first stage rocket test is scheduled to launch from that pad on Aug. 30th. Heck STS-128 is scheduled for launch Aug. 18th.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the launch of Apollo11 and Monday will be the 40th anniversary of the first man, Neil Armstrong, to walk on the Moon. This brings back many memories from my youth, of the wonders of space and the race for it and the moon!

Many things developed for these programs, and derived from them, are the basis for products that allow us the pleasure of Sportscar racing today.

Agree with you 100%.. Space has always interest me, but racing has always come first...

It's sad to see NASA's program not gaining more traction. 40 years ago, we put men on the moon. Where are we today? - another 10 years AWAY from going back there?! It's very ridiculous.. We should have been in the planning stages for a manned mission to Mars by now!

Anyway, let's hope things make a turn for the better in the coming years.
