So, on this 15th day of November, which happens to be my birthday

, I receive a nice text from JT with well wishes...and as I drive to work, the cell phone rings and it comes up from JT....but to my surprise, it is not JT, but rather his fine young son who proceeds to wish me a happy birthday....
Well, being that I also have a child of the same age (5), it is very easy for me to strike up a convseration with him and of course we chat about his school day, what color shirt he is wearing, etc. etc. He proceeds to explain he is wearing his favorite shirt from the movie
Transformers and that 'Bumble Bee' is not his favorite...
Ahem...moving forward to the conversation, I asked him what Johns favorite transformer was, and to this, there was a pause...then a very quiet reply of "
John likes Gladiators"...
To my point of this yet another questionable thread started by mayk?
You know, I realize JT has started a great community here, and JT is always stressing the importance of creating a detailed bio (which by the way many still need to do!),and to date this new community of fans that love the ALMS is a huge success, but I have to ask,
are there not things best unsaid?
Todd B. - You have known JT longer than I, so I have to ask, were you aware of his fondness for Gladiators? Does JT also tape the Roman Wrestling events during the Olympics? Does he ever talk about going into a steam bath after a day at the races?
Funny, all that runs through my head now is the scene from the movie 'Airplane' (one of many fine movies snubbed for an Oscar)....when Captain Murdock explains to Jimmy the puppy is a boy dog....
Gladiators huh? Well, not that there is anything wrong with that.....
The things that children say just make you smile, and the start of my 44th birthday will forever now somehow be linked to JT and Gladitors.....shudder the thought and perhaps I should not inform my lovely bride of this news....
All seriousness, just another reason why this community's timing and JT's efforts are in sync...this is my first stop each morning for news about the ALMS and also to have some fun with friends!
