| How is it made-Science Channel Anybody ever watch this show on the Science Channel? Not at all about racing (although they are doing one now on motorcycles)...but just watched the episode on how records (LPs) are still made. Even with the age of digital everything, there is still a very exclusive market for those who want the sound (warmer?) and feel of records vs. cds
Pretty neat.....and here I thought records, along with 8 track tape (showing my age?) were dead! |

I have (even sealed copies) a rather nice collection of half-speed masters and direct-disc recordings. Tough to listen to them with a 5 year old running around though. My Rega turn table doesn't handle "foot fall" all that well. But nothing beats the richness of the sound of vinyl.

| Gladiator Music "Tough to listen to them with a 5 year old running around though...."
To tie this thread with another....I take it then, the Gladiator music I heard blarring in the background last night during one of just a "few" tech calls of mine, was on CD?
Back on subject (Kinda): I have purchased all of the Sounds of Sebring records and they are in 7-8 out of 10 condition. I see no where you can buy a turntable with a USB connection to make MP3s out of them....curious how the sound would be with them.......... |

| I missed that episode. I will search and see if it comes on again. I also collect records, so this would be great to see. |

| Fanta:
Was pretty cool...the way they first make the master disk and then press the disk on the glob to make a record....and then attaching the label....
Call me a geek, but our youngest (5) loves the show and is neat to see how simple every day things are made.... |

I have a commercial grade washing machine for the LPs. I would start there before doing anything.
