| **WARNING** JS/Psyme virus at ALMS.com site I was infected while at the ALMS site and I was not the only one! Someone started a thread there on it. This was at the site and not the forum so be warned.

| So, what is this virus, exactly? How did you get it and what are the symptoms... how do you know if you have it?
More importantly, any word on how they got it? Strange for a virus to embed to a web page.

| Troj/Psyme-I is a VBS dropper Trojan that may be embedded in a malicious web page. When the trojanised web page is visited the Trojan gains access to the local file system using the ADODB stream ActiveX object vulnerability.

JT | Todd gave the what is.
I got it by going to the ALMS site, I did navigate around in the site so where exactly it came from is a ?? and at the time I was not sure that was where I got it as I had several windows open at once. But then someone else posted problems with it entering the site so I put 1 + 1 together and viola'. My virus program detected and quarantined it immediately then I deleted it and ran a full scan to double check. They are not even acknowledging it, so???

But hey, the announcement of the new software to come out before the end of the month IS good news..... |

| Has anyone been brave enough to venture over there as of late? I have avoided it like the plag...virus. I don't need anything crawling around in my laptop. Then I would have to call Ken for tech support and he would put me on hold while he called Franklin to escalate the issue upward.
That's why I have always used safe surfing and gotten my news from Trackbytes.com and theraceforums.com.

| Oh come and be brave and risk it lol. Virus programs should be able to deal with it.
What is to be concerned about is the STUPID FREAKING SCHOOL NETWORK BEING A PIECE OF CRAP and eating and destroying all the work you put into a 10 page research paper.
and then reformats the jump drive because it feels like it all the while, one of your hard drives at home goes and the only thing you have is a freaking crappy draft version.
Well the drive didn't really go the driver for the usb mass storage device is gone and i need to remember how to fix it since my hard drives are on it since I run in raid.
God I hate the end of the semester. |
