Default The 24 Hours of ...

Santa!

So what's hot on the ALMS race fan's Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanza list this year?

Personally, I'd like to find some current 1/32 Prototypes for my slot car track. The cars that came with it are suffering from some crash damage.. and wouldn't you know it, I didn't get a crash waiver signed by my teammate... not that he can sign... or afford the replacement costs. But over-revving and launching into the glass door wall would be frowned upon by any team owner.... NO?

So... anyone hinting at anything?

Sounds like you need a new team mate. You kept your receipt didn't you? I would bubble wrap him and ship him back to Wally World, kids aisle, asap.

While I understand your pain in having your toys bent, it gets worse.

I enjoy warm summer days, messing around out in the yard, strolling back into the garage to retrieve another tool to manicure the lawn. And what do I spy, much to my surprise, why it's a lovely gouge down the side of my hotrod, at about hip height. Hmm, odd, me thinks. Wasn't there earlier.

That marking seems to match the handle location of a certain powered scooter owned by one of my wife's kids. Seems junior is all throttle and no brake as he whips into the garage between the cars.

Fortunately I watch Dream Car Garage and have learned how to fill in and buff such spots of dismay.

Oh, sorry, ranting a bit. You asked a question.

I really don't have any items of fancy. I pretty much have all I want or need. I concentrate more on the kids and making sure they have an enjoyable holiday. But we have found that as they get older and grow out of toys, their new toys become quite costly...lap tops, cell phones, digital cameras, electronic this and that.

Hell, my 16 year old wants a car this year. Either a Mazda3 or Jetta. Or Granma's used SL500 droptop. Yeah, sure...and dad wants Cameron Diaz stuffed in my stocking. Keep wishing kid.

Mine is 5 and wants those things!!! LOL Is mother informed me that he has nearly 100 titles lined up in his Netflix queue. Notice I said... HIS Netflix queue. We have a total of 7 iPods in this house.. not including the 2 iPhones. We have three of the little shuffles... but Marlon's doesn't hold enough so he's snagged Kristin's old Nano. Plus he's got his eye on her Powerbook because his Dell is a "load" and runs Windows no less. He's a Mac kind of guy. Of course, this means Kristin's got HER eye on my MacPro... which means my accountant has HIS eye on my Amex card. LOL

Ain't life grand? Imagine if we weren't in a recession.

New car for me is my wish, to replace my dead one. Other then that it is money to pay for school and expenses and other stuff.

I will probably buy the new CAN-AM dvd that came out for my dad since he worked those races, the stories are endless.

Currently hoping to get Kimini by Kurt Bilinski or some various odds and ends for my new apartment. Then later this year I hope to get Inside IMSA's Legendary GTP Race Cars: The Prototype Experience by Mike Fuller.

I'm hoping to get a Canon 50mm f1.4 ( I do have L lens disease, but just cant justify $1200+ for a 50mm prime) to fill out my 17-400mm range.

The other thing I wish for, is to be able to get data off of a recently dead hard drive. yeah....yeah I know...I should be backing up. On a side note...kinda bummed at iTunes. They will not let you re-download music you've bought. I kinda understand but, hard drives fail and most people don't back them up. At least if you buy a CD an rip it to your iPod...you have the CD as back up. Hopefully I can rebuild my library from my iPod.

Try putting the hard drive in the freezer, then try your data retrieval.

There is definitely software out there to get it off your iPod. I've done it.
