The Lola numeration is as such; B08/80 = B= for Martin Birrane (owner) 08 = year of build (tub) /80 = The first # of the last two indicates what class of car

the second # indicates power plant or specific variants of that chassis.

That helps (still doesn't account for A1GP )
Maybe they should downsize to one class to simplify things (and maybe get a win in the ALMS)...

Isn't the A1GP chassis a Zytek??

I think that the Lola 'A-1 Grand Prix' and the 'Formula Nippon' are a bespoken single design car requiring a franchise from the sanctioning bodies and is not truly a customer car. And that is why they are designated with their specific corresponding series names rather than a Lola "type" designation.

Lola chassis w/Zytek engine. link The chassis mfg. may have changed, I do not know as I do not follow A-1 GP.

So what about the variations on the LMP1 and LMP2 names? Cars like:

Charouz Lola B07/17 Judd
Fernandez Lola B06/43 Acura
B-K Lola B06/46 Mazda

Some cars have distinct numbers for the 2nd number, where as others don't. Are the variations on the numbers just changes the teams have made, or is there a difference in the chassis that deem them to have a different name?
