Question Corvette, Pace Cars, and ALMS

I just read where the 2008 Indy 500 will once again be paced with a Corvette (Z06) and will mark the 5th straight year a version of the car will pace the field. Emerson Fittipaldi will be behind the wheel.....The Corvette will run on 100% E85 ethanol fuel....

There will be two pace cars in 2008, with the other being a commemorative black and silver vet...marking the 30th aniversary of the first Corvette pace car for the race....

So how is this related to the ALMS and why is this thread in the ALMS forum you ask?

Obivously, to us die hard fans of the ALMS and too many others, when you think of Corvette and racing, you have to think of IMSA and the ALMS....From the IMSA days of the Corvette GTP to the current GT1 beast....ALMS and Corvette go hand in hand...

So here is a question....Would it be a good marketing ploy (if even possible) to have an ALMS Corvette display at the brickyard? I am not talking a GM display, but an ALMS display with two of the ALMS vets?

Would TG even allow this?

Is there any worth to this?

Finally, speaking of pace cars, glad it is a Vet and not some TRUCK!

Probably would be a good idea, but with open wheel trying to use the ALMS as a crutch in some cases, probably not allowed.

Not the same thing, but, reminds me of this year's Petit. There was an insurance company or something that had a booth in the vendor's village with a NASCAR type stock car in the booth. There was never anyone there but the vendor every time I passed by. Somebody needs a new marketing analyst.
