AM in GT2 better than GT1?

So as I find myself sitting in the Tampa airport, with three hours before my next flight, I surf the net and see the AM announcement.....kind of a 'eh'....

Granted, having AM back in the ALMS full time is a good thing...and GT2 is going to be a GREAT class again to watch.....Things are looking up for the Series...in P1, P2, and GT2...yet part of me is frustrated that GT1 still is....well....gtONE! Meaning, just one team 'racing against each other'......

Still, 3 out of 4 classes are going to be great.....

What are other's feelings Aston Martin and perhaps only racing GT1 at LeMans?

Does the GT1 field give the ALMS a black eye?

Or is it not really an ALMS issue, but rather a Mfg issue and GM has 'scared off' the rest?

Curious minds (and bored minds in Tampa) want to know!

Well, in my mind GT1>GT2>No AM at all.

Actually, I like having them in GT2. I want to see at least 4 different manufacturers win in GT2 next year. Really mix it up with heated battles all over the track. I want to see them fight it out for a .1 second victory for the 6th place. Every point is critical.

But, I really want to see the GT1 cars really race. You need competition for that. Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati, BMW, Lexus, geesh, even Ford out there hashing it out with GM. The Corvettes are so over the top cool. Can't any other manufacturer see the value in fielding a GT1 car, even one that isn't winning all the time?

I don't know who is at fault or why. Sure, they cost more. Sure Corvette is tough to beat. But when has have those two things stopped people from racing?

I agree with Hallen. I don't know anyone that doesn't love the GT1 cars, but since we can't see them further competition in GT2 is welcomed.

I honestly prefer the Vantage over the DB9. I love the shorter, squattier (is that a word?) stance. It also gives hope to the little guys too. I will never be able to buy a DB9, but maybe, just maybe if I play my cards right or hit the pick 6 I can get a Vantage.
