While the announced BMW program will not be ready till very late in the season, if this season at all, they would have to compete with their 997 and have sponsors for said program to run it. I guess I was assuming that RLR was not racing this year (maybe at PLM/LS) because all resources (shop space & people) were going into development of the BMW. Even if they had the budget for the 997, do they have people and time to race it? That I don't know. I would assume not. I get your point though, if they did intend to run the 997 they would have kept Bell Micro, Seagate, and others on board for funding.

That car is ridiculous!! It is good to see it in action. There was one in the paddock area at Sebring but somehow I think it must have been a mockup??

Yes it was. BMW works drivers with corresponding helmets just pass your cursor over to identify.

Yeah, it looks great. The fender flairs are huge. I hope the aerodynamics on this incarnation are better than the last. I was watching video from a few years ago at PLM and the old M3 was quick everywhere except down the straights. The Porsche would just walk away down the straight.

I noticed that the driver's position has been moved quite far back from stock. You can see the normal instrument cluster hump about a foot in front of the racing instrument cluster.

I hope BMW decides to stick around for a while this time. I also hope they can get a customer program going instead of just the factory effort.

I am obviously a BMW fan so I hope they can get some momentum here and I hope the car is competitive quickly.
