Default Three Flying Lizard Porsches for 2008

Taking it to em... Flying Lizard Motorsports

Flying Lizard Motorsports announced today the team's plans for the 2008 American Le Mans Series racing season. The California-based racing team will field three Porsche 2008 911 GT3 RSRs in the GT2 class: the No. 44, No. 45, and No. 46 Flying Lizard Porsches.
In the No. 45 and No. 46 Porsches, drivers Joerg Bergmeister (Germany) and Johannes van Overbeek (U.S.A) will return in 2008 and will be joined by Wolf Henzler (Germany) and Patrick Pilet (France). Henzler competed with the Lizards in the 2006 season with van Overbeek, finishing second in the GT2 drivers' championship. Pilet, winner of the 2007 French Carrera Cup, is new to the American Le Mans Series: 2008 will be his inaugural season in the U.S. Darren Law, Seth Neiman, and Lonnie Pechnik will all return in 2008 to share driving duties in the No. 44 Porsche

Porsche is serious about not having a repeat of last years Ferrari domination.

The funny thing is that on the Flying Lizard's site, they have pictures of the 2008 RSR.
They are exactly the same pictures that Porsche has had on their site since the RSR was launched.
This means either the 2008 RSR has some noticeable design changes and Porsche are trying to keep the car out of the public view until the last possible moment, or the 2008 car is exactly the same from the exterior and all changes that have taken place are under the skin.

Yes, but the differences are not exactly noticeable.

I was hoping for another factory driver. Pilet is somewhat unknown...maybe he's quick...I guess we'll have to wait and see. He's got a French Carrera Cup in his first year racing it, but his open wheel racing prior to that is somewhat unimpressive.

It will be interesting to see if they mix up the drivers. Probably not though Joerg and Johannes are both pretty tall, Wolf and Patrick seem a bit shorter.

I wonder if they'll try for 2 entries at Le Mans.

I was wondering the same. If not, they'll still have a nice line up with one car.
