Well I guess we will see how far this goes/long it lasts:
Quote:
Peper said President Barack Obama' auto task force had not gotten involved in GM's racing programs during the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. "They concentrated on the core business -- they didn't get into marketing and advertising," Peper said. "They just wanted us to use good judgment with our promotions."

"The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the key marketing activities of the brand," Peper said. "Corvette is the marquee brand for the company, but we've got to get maximum return for minimum spending."
from here also a litle more here.

Well with less than 30 days now until their scheduled debut at Mid Ohio and General Motors Co. probably emerging from bankruptcy tomorrow (July 9th) (and) hopefully we will see the elusive GT-2 soon (very)!

Well as GM emerges from bankruptcy we have learned that Bob Lutz will be head of marketing:
Quote:
Bob Lutz, a longtime GM executive who had planned on retiring, will "unretire" as Henderson said, to become head of marketing and communications for the company. Lutz will also remain in a design role at the automaker.
Here

Now while not being iron clad proof that there will be no cuts to 'Corvette Racing' Lutz is a large fan of Corvette and even uses one as a daily driver. So it seems that we have an advocate in our corner for the program!!

Although we knew this was coming, it is good to see car counts heading in the right direction lately. The Jag will debut there too.

Well Johnny is out shaking down the car today so hopefully we will have some specifics on it soon. It would be nice to see them before the Mid O race.

I know I am in the minority with this opinion, but I think it would be great if the new cars also meant a new livery.

Well, I would like to see them in the US National colors for International racing. Here w/ a dark blue Jake in the stripe. 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Roadster
With the new Gran Sport design striping
