Default 08 Fia Gt

PK Carsport is replacing the team’s Corvette C5-R, with an ex-Zakspeed Saleen S7R raced successfully by Zakspeed in 2006, for the 08 FIA GT-1 season. The team has also sold off it's Belcar series GT-3 Z06.

Interesting switch. I really hope it works out well for them. The ex-Zakspeed Saleen has proven to have the speed, but lacks reliability factor a bit. But given these races are now only 2 hours (except Spa 24hr), they should be in good shape. And also given Oreca's success with its S7Rs, I think some of those enhancements will translate over to this car as well.

Nice to see more of a Saleen presence in both LMS and FIA GT next year..

Thumbs up Good news...

While this is good news, it still kills me that the Saleen (which is my favorite ALMS car) is not raced on it's home soil.....Granted, you are going up against GM and a third step on the podium is what would be the 'norm'....still......sad they are not in the ALMS....IMHO

Problem is with the Saleen that you have 2 top cars (the ex-ORECA's), 1 just below (PK Carsport), then 2 ACEMCO Saleens that are on the market for 2 years now and then the Konrad Saleens which are hopelessly outdated.

Why would one spend money on buying an obsolete chassis.

Couldn't agree with you more Ken.

Is there a speculative 2008 FIA GT Entry List anywhere?

Has anyone heard anything about PSI Experience? Will they run their Corvettes again? Also, anymore news on All-inkl.com? They were rumored to be running either a C6.R or a DBR9 this year?

I'd heard that would be happening. Will JMB be there this year, or will Vitaphone be the only team running MC12s?

I'm trying to think of all the series that one could race a GT1 car in, just to get an idea of what kind of schedule some of these European teams might run.

ALMS
LMS
FIA GT
FFSA GT
Italian GT?
Super GT
The former JLMC
Any others?
