Is there going to be a webcast of the Daytona a la NASCAR Nationwide (nee Busch)?

I wonder why GARRA would pick a date 1 week before the big season opener to totally revamp their forums - deleting all the race info that was previously there? Seems like a good way to piss off fans!

Lightbulb Pretty Consistent...

Actually Mike, I think it is pretty consistent...as the ALMS did the same thing....not saying I agree or disagree, but of the the two other times GARRA changed their website, it was on the week of the 24.....

With that said, and I know I will be slammed for being just a 'bot', my favorite look, feel, and navigation for the race forums I frequent is in this order:

1. theraceforums.com
2. SPEED
3. ALMS/GARRA

I think the new GARRA website, once some minor changes/tweaks are made, is going to be very nice....now if they could just work on the looks and SOUNDS of the DPs!

That begs the question, though; Is it by default or design? Not to be cynical, but I'm guessing these projects always start with the intention of being done "before" and end up backed into "gotta be done before.... (insert season opener here)

Exactly, John - "default or design" - or just BAD PLANNING? Assign the project to someone who is already overworked, or doesn't have familiarity with the current usage of the forums. Typical corporate work (see your local paper for any Dilbert comic, same thing.)

Well it seems that all the Pontiac GT cars will recieve a 40# ballast reduction before the 24hr/season start.

The response of "I've passed along your ideas, but as you can imagine we're pretty busy getting ready for the Rolex 24..." from the Adm is NOT what should be said.

Whatever happened to the 'Do it right the first time, or don't do it at all" mentality of project implementation? I am not saying waiting until things are perfect, as if that was the thinking, no projects would be implemented; however, PLAN for issues to develop and have a PLAN to correct....not give a "we are to busy" response (Boy, heard that in other series as well). Kinda like the comment from a pissed off worker saying, " I could get more work done if it wasnt for these damn customers calling me all the time!"

Ken - "planning" is so 20th century!! I see the same thing happening where I work too - only it takes a committee to end up making the same not-planned-for mistakes. Might as well leave it up to one person.

Assume you're in Daytona this weekend - enjoy!

Yesterday's Sun Trust Earnings statement:

SunTrust Banks STI 0.01 c 0.31 / 0.33 1.46 -14.4%

Another possible casualty to the economy at some point? The Green number was a year ago.
