Default Petit Le Mans 2009 - a stellar grid?

In light of the small grids this year I think we can look forward to Petit & most likely Laguna Seca.
Could we see a P1 to rival Le Mans? Peugeot confirmed they are coming this past week, Dave Richards said he would like to come, and Dr. Ullrich said he would like to and there are rumours they may be. Creation has repeatedly said the would be in the ALMS post Le Mans, and Mundill could show with their Pesca. Surely there may be a Zytek or two...
Peugeot: Olivier Quesnel : "Nous irons au PLM et à Laguna Seca !" (in French, use Google Translate)
Aston: autosport.com - ALMS News: Aston eyes Petit Le Mans entry

In GT2 we know in addition to the relatively strong field we can include the Drayson Aston, LG, Rocketsports with their new Jag, and the new Vettes. Plus the Krohn car...

Plus, with the Asian LMS there must be a possibility of a European entry or three stopping by on their way over.

Yes, by all accounts it could be a very good grid at Petit and Laguna! That being said, lets hope that it materializes. With the attrition going on it may be a liitle thinner than hoped for. But it should still be a fantastic end of season boost.

Yes it seems that Peugeot will skip Portimao (Algarve) to keep budget for a swing through the States on the way to Asia. China being a key race for them this year it seems. Here

I think there ought to be more Asian teams in the Asian Le Mans Series. I'm really looking forward to GT1 with the Luc Alphand Corvette team, JLOC Lambo and the Team Nova DBR9. I don't care how big of a Corvette fan you are, those DBR9's are great machines.

I think you and Horndawg are the 2 biggest Corvette fans out there. The DBR9 would be sweet to see (and hear) race one more time. Sadly I don't think there will be one at the last 2 ALMS races this year.

Nope, and this will probably be a 1 year deal for the Team Nova squad.

Yes, that is good news. The Race Forums - A Social Network for Fans of the American Le Mans - News - Team ORECA-Matmut-AIM will Re-Visit Braselton
It does seem that we might be seeing the nexus of what might be the future of P-1 racing on a world stage.(?) LMS, ALMS, Asian Le Mans Series for a couple of rounds apiece and then Le Mans for a new Championship. Wonder if it will come to pass? Will we see AM and Audi this fall? Hope so. It would be nice to see Henri over here also!

Murphy is saying that Audi has hotels booked for Petit and Drayson has bought a Lola Judd LMP1 coupe hmmm.... LMP1 could add 3 cars?? I personally hope he still brings the Aston.
