What is so important about the entry list? I see posts like yours every year and for the life of me can't think of why it's so important. Sure... a week out, it'd be nice to know who's signed up for the event... but isn't it usually a matter of "who else" signed up?

I think the reason it is always posted later than sooner is the fact that they want to allow late entries at their (IMSA) discretion.. and not be subject to criticism.

Either way, I don't understand the urgency or the reason to know three weeks before the race.

Like I said, this is a genuine question. I'm not criticizing you.. I'm searching for a reason cause it's always confused me.

Hmm,
Hey, this isn't a flame... it's a genuine question.

What is so unimportant about the entry list? I see posts like yours every year and for the life of me can't think of why it's so unimportant. It'd sure would be nice to know who's signed up for the event... and no at this time of year, especially, it's not just a matter of "who else" signed up!

I think the reason it is always posted later than sooner is the fact that they want to allow late entries at their (IMSA) discretion.. and not be subject to criticism, but I think that is a poor excuse for delaying it.

Anyway isn't curiosity and the thirst for information, especially on something that is as close to us all that it would make us take the time to follow it in the manner that sends us all to sites such as this to find out as much as possible as soon as possible lend to the conclusion that people want to know and that it is, simply human nature?

Like I said, this is a genuine question. I'm not criticizing you.. I'm searching for a reason cause it's always confused me.

I didn't mean to word it so it sounded super important. Maybe a "" face would've helped? Just more curious than anything to see if there will be any surprise entries. I know of the Mariantic entry list, which is close to what the final will probably look like. I jump the gun a bit sometimes, but it's been a long off-season, though very exciting(in my eyes) in terms of what has been announced. Just getting a little antsy.. pretty sure we all are.. I just chose to voice it.

No flame taken.

To me it signals that the race is getting close! More importantly for Sebring, it ends much of the rumor and speculation that we (some of us anyway) have been batting around for several months. I get antsy to have it published as well although I understand the reasoning for waiting as late a possible.

Might be a good time to run over to Walmart and pick up a LIFE. I don't think I have EVER downloaded an entry list. I guess I'm just on a need-to-know basis.

Nic Jonsson at today's Risi GT2 announcement said "I think there are going to be six Ferraris, plus Corvettes and Porsches." Who is the sixth Ferrari or is he just bad at math? Also, Corvette is plural?? I know I'm probably reading too much into this quote An entry list sure would be helpful

We can still hope Corsa is fielding that second car. Maybe LG found some funding too. Thats hoping they just didn't add the 's' for fun of getting everyones hopes up...

Not going to bet any of my own money on that, though.
