It depends on the track. Some tracks have a low power radio system and some do a cooperation thing with a local station to broadcast. But, you are better off bringing a scanner that can get the UHF frequencies. Then you should be able to pick up the broadcast.
I used my mobile phone to listen to John over the internet and my scanner to listen to the team radios.
As ever we will be broadcasting on scanner frequency 454.000 - All live and commercial free -from Thursday for every session the ALMS cars are out.
At Sebring we feed our race broadcast to a local AM news/sport/talk station - however they do have 12 mins of ads in each of the broadcast hours.
As for XM - As you know they did not do much live last year - mostly anything we did do was on a delay, which was not very satisfactory. XM have not yet formally asked us/ALMS about this year although they have been making some technical enquiries.

"Hindy" is John Hindhaugh who is the voice of the ALMS. His broadcasts are streamed on the web live from all the races. He is Radio Le Mans (RLM) front man!

I hope I can get the chance to say Hi to him and just thank him for making the races even better. Have always missed him at the races since I am always on the corners, will be doing the same at Sebring but maybe I can meet him and thank the rest of the crew also.
Well least I hope I can hear him over the cars while working the corners.
