Default Close Finishes this Season and Looking into 2008

One thing I've noticed this year was the amount of close finishes there were - or battles going right down to the wire.

The last five races: Road America, Mosport, Detroit, Petit and Laguna all had amazing finishes, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the checkered flag.

What do you guys think of this? Obviously, if the P2 Porsches were not able to mix it with the Audis, none of this would have happened..

Which makes me wonder about 2008. With the announced regulation adjustments by the ACO, will we see the P2 cars battling for overall wins week-in-week out?

"Life will find a way... " LOL

Honestly, I think it was a reflection of the caliber of competitor the Series is beginning to attract. I just think Penske is the kind of guy that'll wiggle the through grocery store aisles just trying to keep is shopping cart in front of you.

I was a big fan...P1/P2...it's just a class. This year would have been boring if Audi raced themsleves in P1 and Penske raced themsleves in P2

Don't forget about Houston: Penske Porsche, AGR Acura, Audi all within 1.5sec at the end
3 Engine Mfg, 2 Engine Technologies, 3 Chasis Mfg...that doesn't happen all that often...if ever.

To be able to witness three live ALMS races last year (Mid-Ohio, Road America and Mosport) was amazing. Mid-Ohio was a decent race, but Mosport was simply fantastic and Road America had me on the edge of my seat in Hurry Downs just hoping that Penske would be able to pull off the upset. I sat with my jaw open as the Audis raced each other and handed the win to The Captain.

Great stuff. Looking forward to 2008. And yes. Penske and Porsche will still be fighting Audi for wins in 2008. The ALMS has a great thing going, and they will make sure it stays that way.
