I like the new Corvette paint job, I can see the resemblance to the ZR-1 they they might be pushing for. Mazda still way back in the P2 pack, I was hoping the new car might at least allow them to run ahead of the Dyson cars.

It was pretty neat being at the track on Friday (My first time at a live quali). The Corkscrew section was not as busy as on race day so it was great to hang out in that area under the shade. I could not believe how aggressive Audi takes the Corkscrew. They pretty much launch straight at the top and land flat out like a piece of wood in the middle edge of the Cork. You could hear the car thump and see sparks fly from bottoming out due to taking air. Also the P2 cars have so much downforce they take turn ten like I've never seen before. (Which isn't that many years... lol) The Patron tech talk was pretty cool. Never had the opportunity to see that before. I saw Muscle Milk (Cytosport?) "people" where there talking to other "known" people but doesn't anyone know why? Cytosport looking for funding/racing options?

So what did other experience on Friday?

ECO made it to morning practice for about 5 mins then was on the flatbed headed back to the paddock for the rest of the day. I couldn't believe my eyes at first seeing the Radical go by at turn 5. I also saw the incident with Porsche #7 and the Audi on the out lap of morning practice. It looked to me like the Porsche had cold tyres and slowed up on the uphill apex of turn 5. While the Audi ran underneath and spun the Porsche and himself in trying to slow down to avoid the Porsche. The Audi was able to get going on his own while the #7 was beached on the outside of the turn. The Audi driver did a funny "see you later" hand wave as he drove by.

Thanks kwokjk. I just did some poking around and saw actual photos of it on the track. Good to hear.

Thanks kwokjk. The Muscle Milk "people" (i.e. Greg Pickett) ARE the funding! 2 options IMO: 1) maybe they are looking at sponsoring a team or 2) buying a chassis - I hear there are good deals on used RS Spyders all around the world or a new Lola coupe perhaps
