| Orbit Racing returning to the ALMS?!?! I have a buddy who works at Moroso Motorsports Park and today he snapped these pics of a 997 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR testing there run by none other than Orbit Racing! Could we see them returning to the ALMS!?!
Can anyone identify who's driving?
Also, notice the car is on Kuhmo tires. |

| Interesting. Sounds like you and your buddy are onto something. Don't see why else they'd have a brand new Porsche. For fun!?
Be great if something came out of this.
Did your buddy get a chance to speak with them at all?

They're testing there again tomorrow, so he said he'd have his DSLR with him then instead of his crappy P&S. |

| Cool!
I am not familiar with Orbit racing though.
I think the neatest thing is they can't hide from us. Somebody will sniff them out. |

Mike Fitzgerald, Johnny Mowlem, Tom Papadopoulos, Lance Willsey.

Network which does NY sports media. I'm pretty sure it was some members of Orbit who then formed BAM!, which won Le Mans in 2006 (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). Hindery then decided to take his money elsewhere, and the remaining members of Orbit have spent the last couple of years in IMSA GT3 Cup and I think Grand Am GT. It'd be great to have them back in the series, they were my favorite Porsche team pre-Flying Lizards.
Here's a pic of the livery they ran in 2002, perhaps you'll recognize it. |

| Thanks guys. I didn't get into ALMS until about 2003 so that is why I didn't recognize the name.
I checked a sorce btw who thinks that Mike Fitzgerald would not be involved for a full season effort if that is what is happening here. He has driven for them before most recently at the Daytona 24.
Another forum is implying that this might be the Vici car and not one for Orbit. Does that make sense? |

If you look on the Moroso website, it has Orbit scheduled for a 2 day private test yesterday and today. You can also see an Orbit decal on the golf cart of one of the pics. And my buddy who was there said it was the Orbit transporter that hauled it all there as well. So I have little doubt that this is an Orbit effort. |
