Default Dome S102

So the Dome S102 is nearing completion of its shake down and looks pretty good.

But there might be somebody behind the proverbial 'curtain'! story
Toyota 'subsidizing' the project?!

Neat looking coupe. I like the headlamps, cool different look.

Imagine a factory run Toyota powered Dome S102 in the ALMS! That'd be amazing!

I think the Bear and perhaps some other had thought Toyota would be the best bet on another new manufacturer joining the series in 2009.

I agree all the more so ALMS expends is partnership for 5 years with Long Beach Grand Prix where Toyota is the major Sponsor...

Not that it is a bad thing, but, the Dome S102 sure does look like an updated and refined Toyota GT-One.

During the Petit broadcast S. Atherton said that beside Zytek there were 2 other mfgs working closely with ALMS/IMSA on the rules structure for hybrid equalization etc.. It seems that one of those 2 would be Peugeot as they have already run a hybrid-proto demo. Now it seems that the third one might be tied to the Dome S102. It is being reported that Toyota had talks with the ALMS at Detroit and the Dome S102 has been run with a Toyota hybrid system at Tokachi in July. In fact it seems to be the hybrid system that won the 07 24hr race at Tokachi in a Toyota Supra GT.

Story here, I could not get the article to translate in whole, so I did it a paragraph at a time.

The Toyota rumor is getting more play these days, is the S102 the chassis of choice for them? Maybe we will find out on the 23rd of Nov. Here third listing down.

Yep, so a quasi-works effort in '09 (no classification/points) and a full-out works-run team in '10?

Sure hope they'd come stateside too (for a full season)!
