B-K Motorsports’ Ben Devlin and Gerardo Bonilla will take part in a pre-race promotion near Salt Lake City this weekend in conjunction with the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix presented by the Grand and Little America Hotels and the premier of the feature film
Speed Racer.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. MT at the Jordan Commons Megaplex 17 in the Salt Lake City suburb of Midvale. Track staff will set up a karting circuit in the parking lot with concession karts from the Miller Kart Track. Theater-goers can buy a ticket package ($15 for IMAX, $13 for regular) for a matinee movie that includes a movie ticket, lunch and karting. Additional karting sessions will be available for $5.
Devlin and Bonilla will be on hand to offer pointers on karting, sign autographs and pose for photographs. The B-K Lola-Mazda MZR-R also will be on display.
For the second straight American Le Mans Series Race, the Yokohama- and BP- sponsored Mazda LMP2 race car will feature Speed Racer movie logos as well as the famous letter “M” on the front. Drivers Devlin and Bonilla will each look the part, wearing specially-designed suits inspired by the movie. The suits will have blue tops and white bottoms and feature Speed Racer logos. The crew will also be in Speed Racer-designed shirts.
The Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix presented by The Grand and Little America Hotels is set for Sunday, May 18 from Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. The green flag is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT with live television coverage on SPEED. Live radio coverage will be available on XM Satellite Radio Channel 144 and American Le Mans Radio at
American Le Mans Series :: World Class, which also will feature IMSA’s Live Timing & Scoring.
