Bell Motorsports announces Drivers - The Race Forums - A Social Network for Fans of the American Le Mans

Terry Borcheller and Chapman Ducote will race Bell Motorsports' Aston Martin DBR9 in 2008.

Terry Borcheller will round out an all-American lineup for Bell Motorsports in the 2008 American Le Mans Series. Borcheller will team with Chapman Ducote in the team's Aston Martin DBR9, team owner Jim Bell has announced. The two drivers will contest the Bell Motorsports Aston Martin for the full season against a pair of Corvette C6.Rs from Corvette Racing.

Bell Motorsports is eager to take on the challenge of facing the factory Corvettes. Borcheller is no stranger to this level of competition as evidenced by his long history of GT1 racing in the American Le Mans Series. He won the 2001 GTS championship in a Saleen S7R, beating out a quartet of Corvette Racing works drivers in the process.

He also has a long history with Bell as the two were key pieces of ACEMCO Motorsports' GT1 effort with a Saleen in 2004 and 2005. The latter season saw Borcheller claim class pole positions at Mosport and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca against the Corvettes.

During the American Le Mans Series' Winter Test last week at Sebring International Raceway, Ducote said, "I was thrilled with the performance of the car and the accuracy of which the team performed. I am looking forward to a very successful season."

Borcheller says, "I had expected to test for the team but had no idea I would actually be offered a full-time position for 2008. The test went great and almost overnight I found myself in a great position to once again go after the GT1 Championship."

Borcheller has worked with Bell Motorsports for many years and is looking forward to an ongoing relationship with his new co-driver Ducote and sponsors OSO Fresh, Total Merchant Services, Krome Skin, Krieger Watch, and Aston Martin.

The team is now poised to focus in on the preparation necessary to be as competitive as they can by the first event of the year, the 56th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida. "We expect a positive result at this event, and a strong 2008 season," said Ducote, "It's going to be a lot of work, but we are all up to the task."
