All-British Driver Line-up in Aston Martin Vantage GT2 at Le Mans

8 June, 2009
LE MANS, FRANCE- The 24 Heures du Mans holds a poignant place in the heart and mind of even the most casual observer. It is a special race that transcends cars and drivers to reach mythical status; an event of which dreams are made. The dream will be realised 13-14 June as Drayson Racing makes its debut appearance in the grandfather of all sports car races. In an all-British driver line-up, teaming behind the wheel of the No. 87 Drayson Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT2 will be Paul Drayson (London/Gloucestershire, UK), Jonny Cocker (Guisborough, Yorks, UK) and Marino Franchitti (London/Edinburgh, UK). Audi continues to back efficiency and innovation

New aerodynamics and logical lightweight construction

More compact TDI engine and new vehicle power supply

Ingolstadt/Le Mans – Logical lightweight construction, downsizing, efficiency and the best possible aerodynamics – the same subjects which currently occupy the brains of the automobile industry development departments are also key elements in the 24 Hours of Le Mans held for the 77th time on the weekend of June 13/14.

In the world’s most famous endurance race it is, in addition to speed, also more a question of reliability and efficiency – and to set trends afterwards. Audi has used Le Mans since 1999 to test technical innovations under racing conditions and has, in the process, repeatedly set milestones thanks to its...

Corvette Racing Aims for Sixth Le Mans Title in Final GT1 Race

Le Mans, France, June 5, 2009 – Corvette Racing has unfinished business at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The most successful team in American Le Mans Series history has won its class five times in the classic 24-hour French endurance race (2001-02, 2004-06), establishing Corvette as a global performance icon. Now after runner-up finishes in Le Mans in 2007 and 2008, Corvette Racing is focused on winning its sixth Le Mans title at the immense Circuit des 24 Heures on June 13-14.

This year's edition of the world's most prestigious sports car race has special significance for Corvette Racing. The team's Corvette C6.Rs will make their final run in the...

RISI COMPETIZIONE LOOKING FOR A DOUBLE

Houston, Texas, June 4, 2009. Risi Competizione returns to France next week for its 2009 assault on the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans with just one simple, but momentous, challenge ahead; to repeat the dominant GT2 success achieved at La Sarthe twelve months ago.

The Houston, Texas-based team, linked again for Le Mans with its endurance partner, Krohn Racing, has retained many of the elements within the 2008 winning package including the race-proven and reliable Ferrari F430 GT Berlinetta, created by Ferrari SpA with final build by Michelotto. Add to that the extremely consistent and successful Michelin tire package, a largely-unchanged driver line-up, and a team which has now recorded GT2 class victories at the last three major endurance races...

TOOELE, Utah — The driving duo of Gil de Ferran and Simon Pagenaud were unmatched Sunday in the Larry H. Miller Utah Grand Prix, the fourth race on the 2009 American Le Mans Series.

Coming off their first ALMS overall win at Long Beach last month, de Ferran and Pagenaud showed phenomenal speed throughout the weekend with a new qualifying mark Saturday by Pagenaud and a dominating performance Sunday in the No. 66 de Ferran XM Radio Acura ARX-02a sports car at Miller Motorsports Park.

The victory for de Ferran Motorsports was an anniversary present for the team, as the Brownsburg, Ind.-based squad made its ALMS debut at Utah last year, finishing third overall in an LMP2 Acura ARX-01b.

But Sunday, there was little doubt that de Ferran, the 2003 Indy 500 champion, and Pagenaud,...
